About the Author

Barbara Couture has held several academic positions, ranging from professor of English to university president. Her publications include six books and numerous chapters and articles. She received the 2000 CCCC Outstanding Book Award for Toward a Phenomenological Rhetoric and was awarded the distinction of Fellow of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing in 2010.

Patti Wojahn is associate professor at New Mexico State University. She researches borders challenging communication and growth in various contexts: within online technologies; within transitions among languages: academic, personal, professional, first, or additional; and within diverse disciplinary fields.

Trekking into the future

This is the second part of Kathleen Burt's Beyond the Mask, Libra through Pisces. One of the many things that sets the books apart is the focus on something that is very difficult to find: Astrology for older people.

This book is filled with Elder Stories and real examples of creativity as we grow older. Very encouraging when we start realizing others see us as aging or old.

It's hard to fathom the amount of focus and depth of knowledge that has gone into this book. One would think Kathleen Burt has spent a life-time soaking in marvelous words and stories, spending vulnerable years with wise men and women and all the while learning, learning.

Now she has shared it all. We are fortunate to have writers of such depth among us.

This book is fabulous. I didn't want it to come to an end. Had this book been written without astrological references it would still be a stimulating read on account that it describes the lives of significant people. For those interested in astrology, both novices and those with an astrological background would find it a fascinating read as it gives in depth insight into how the rising sign plays out in people's lives and adheres to . Kathleen Burt is a master astrologer and mythologist and all of Kathleen Burt's books are as good as it gets. A must for anyone with an ounce of curiosity about astrology

I reread this book recently and Kathleen's research is like a delicious soup- taste better on the next day; with deep saturation of spices and herbs. I get "hits" every time I go back for more. A palatable digestion of the rising sign and its guidance during the second half of life. A reference book for life's events and the myriad directions taken by others.

It is great to read his testimonies for God's answer to many prayer that have produced the Without Walls Ministry, the men's ministry and Hope Assembly in Charleston. May God's protection continue to be over Gordon and his family as he does God's will in Charleston!
